Oil Pulling is an Indian traditional remedy that involves swishing fresh seed oil in the mouth for 15 to 20 minutes and spitting it out. It is mentioned in the Ayurvedic text Charaka Samhita. Ayurvedic literature describes oil pulling as capable of both improving oral health and treating systemic diseases such as diabetes mellitus or asthma. It is a natural remedy and daily routine for restoring and maintaining overall health.
To understand how it works,
we need to understand Ayurveda and its basic principles.
Ayurveda literally means 'Knowledge of Life' and it is over 5,000 year old medical system from India. Ayurveda is one of the oldest holistic medicines in the world. The word "holistic" comes from the word "whole". When you have a problem holistic medicine wants to know what's going on with you as a whole. Which will help to determine what is the root of the problem. The aim of Ayurvedic medicine is to integrate and balance the body, mind, and spirit. This is believed to help prevent illness and promote wellness. Routine is one of the most important aspects in this holistic medicine. When you have a good routine, life seems to flow and there somehow is more time in the day.
Oil Pulling works the same way as Ayurveda.
Ayurveda advises oil gargling to purify the entire system. It contends that each section of the tongue is connected to different organs in the body, such as the kidneys, lungs, liver, heart, small intestines, stomach colon and spine- similar to reflexology and TCM. By helping the body get rid of toxins that have accumulated, Oil Pulling promotes self healing from within. Another exciting aspect of this healing method is its simplicity. This simple therapy is completely harmless as you do not take any medicines - even the oil you use is spit out after swishing.
In 1996, a survey was conducted by the Telugu Daily (an Indian newspaper) to find out the effectiveness of Oil Pulling. Out of a total of 1041 respondents, 89% (927) reported improvement of one or more conditions. The negative responses were only 11%. In 2008, a study was conducted by Meenakshi Ammal Dental College, VHNSN College and the University of Madras in India to evaluate the effect of oil pulling. The resault were great! Oil Pulling showed a reduction in the plaque index, gingival scores and total colony count of microorganisms in the plaque. While there is no meaningful research about the detoxing effect yet, we are receiving tremendous testimonials from all around world.
Do20 is a mordernized way of ancient Oil Pulling Detox.
Oil Pulling is very easy and practical way of healing.
Rinsing the mouth with small amount of oil for 15 to 20 minutes and spitting it out.
It sounds simple, isn't it?
However there is some obstacles to practice it at home.
First, it is not easy to find a proper oil for this therapy. In past, our eating oils were full of nutrients. They were anti-inflammatory, contained antioxidants and were antiseptic. Things are different now. General cooking oils in today's grocery stores are heavily processed and lack the nutrients and any healing power.
Second, The flavor and texture of raw seed oils is not always favorable to many people, including children. This can be easily overcome because the therapy should be done every day as part of a daily routine.
That's why we made Do20.
It is revolutionary in many ways.
Simply, the best oil you can get.
We are using certified organic sunflower and sesame oils for DO20 that contain NO synthetic pesticides or chemical fertilizers. We are not using irradiation, industrial solvents or chemical additives in our process. This oil is full of vitamins and minerals in their natural form.
Tea Tree Oil is another nature's wonder.
It is a natural antiseptic, bactericide, fungicide and anti-viral with anesthetic qualities. Tea Tree Oil is effective against canker sores and candida infection. Unlike most other antiseptic preparations, Tea Tree Oil can be used daily without causing an imbalance in the natural bacterial flora. We added this natural antiseptic to impower the healing impact of DO20.
Natural Cool Mint Flavor.
Forget about oily taste and smell in your mouth. Do20 has lovely cool mint flavor. It's natural, refreshing and enerziging. The flavor comes from natural peppermint herb. Peppermint is a natural remedy for indigestion and headache and it is antiseptic in nature.
